Anita Gregorski
Local barn and fences, quaint neighborhood homes, flowers from her gardens, New England landscapes, area store fronts and street scenes are among her artworks on display. Anita has lived all her life in Connecticut, and her paintings successfully reflect the colors and atmosphere that are so much a part of this landscape. Many of the barns that she has captured in paintings have disappeared, streets have changed and storefronts modernized. "I like to find that bit of nostalgia, record that weathered look, catch the light on fresh fallen snow and the new bloom on the flower from my garden. A paint brush and a few props and a painting gets created. Some days I wrestle with the paint brush and other days I hang onto the brush as the painting paints itself." Artist Gregorski has won numerous awards, and her work has been accepted in many Juried Art shows including the Salmangundi Club National Show (NY City) Northeast Watercolor Society National Show, TheArt of New England National in Lyme, Academic Artist National Exhibit, The Connecticut Watercolor Society Shows, and The Connecticut Womens' Artists. She has had many local solo exhibits. Anita Gregorski is an active part of many art organizations, serving as officer, committee chairmen and director. She has been a judge and member of the selection committee for numerous competitive award shows. She has been the chairman of juried shows and participated in choosing scholarship awards for aspiring artists. She is an signature member of Academic Artists, Connecticut Watercolor Society, Kent Art Association, Northeast Watercolor Society, and an active member of Lyme Art Association, Watertown Art League, SCAN, and Associate Member of TheAmerican Watercolor Society . Anita received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Connecticut, and her Associate Degree in Accounting from CCSU.
